Catalytic aftertreatment of particulate matter
Research Project, 2013 – 2016

The project aims at increased understanding of catalytic oxidation of PM. To obtain this objective the catalytic oxidation will be studied in a PM filter at different reaction conditions. A filter reactor will be developed working in both batch reactor as well as continuous mode. Optical methods will be used in combination with analysis of the gas phase. Using laser-based spectroscopy reactants, products and reaction intermediates will be studied in both time and space. The project is planned as a PhD project at KCK, but a significant part of the experimental work will be performed at CERC. Hereby, a bridge between catalysis research (KCK) and engine research (CERC) is made which has a clear positive effect on the research within the area as a whole.
