Generic combustion research: GEN-CECOST
Research Project, 2014 – 2017

The present application describes a proposal for a national research programme, GEN-CECOST, with participation from Lund University, Chalmers and the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH. The aim of the programme is to continue the generic parts of the successful CECOST programme. The programme will be directed towards tools in the form of advanced diagnostics and modelling aimed at deepened understanding and improved control possibilities of complex industrial combustion processes. The research programme will comprise five subprojects; development and application of advanced laser diagnostics, development of models for chemically reacting flows, fenomenological studies of combustion of biomass, a special Incentive programme to connect different combustion research projects and transfer the tools developed to new users and activities related to the unique high pressure burner (the DESS-rigg). The programme forms the basis for the “Kompetenscentrum” KC-CECOST.
