Electrified transport system demo platform involving trucks and high capacity city buses

A conversion to electrified and automatized vehicle operation in urban areas leads to less energy consumption, CO2, noise, regulated emissions and improved effectiveness. The conversion builds to a large extent on new technologies for vehicles and infrastructure. Innovation is needed for the transport system, and Swedish industry shall be able to lead this development. The project is run in two subprojects with relevant partners, uses when possible results from finished and on-going projects, and is directed towards creating and R&D of new technology concepts. The sub-projects incorporate base technology for fully electric automatized waste and distribution trucks, construction machines and buses coupled to appropriate infrastructures. The broad application area allows the establishment of an globally competitive R&I and production in Sweden. Complementing national and international R&I projects are applied to secure demonstration and international standardisation.
