CryptoQuaC: Cryptography meets Verifiable Quantum Computation
Research Project, 2020 –

The goal of this GENIE project is to establish an interdisciplinary collaboration among excellent women researchers working at the intersection of cryptography  and quantum computing. We wish  to tackle timely scientific questions, as well as to provide all the necessary support especially to young female researchers in the collaboration to establish and advance their careers and foster their network via mentoring, e.g., through research visits and mutual support in academic research. The central scientific question at the heart of this project is whether refined techniques of classical cryptography can be used to improve currently existing works in verifiable quantum computation. On the one hand, this GENIE project draws forces from inter-disciplinary areas in order to solve the challenging problem of efficient verifiable quantum computation. Indeed, addressing this open

problem requires mandatory collaboration of computer scientists, cryptographers, and theoretical quantum physicists. Our constellation has the perfect set of complementary skills and competences to address this question, with the following female academics: Prof. Katerina Mitrokotsa (CSE, Chalmers), Dr. Bei Liang (CSE, Chalmers), Assistant Professor Giulia Ferrini (MC2, Chalmers) and Prof. Elham Kashefi (LIP6, University Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris) and Univ. of Edinburgh).
