Steady-State Heat Transfer in Axi-Symmetric Induction Machines-Part II: Finite Element Impelementation and Testing
Journal article, 2003

The finite element formulation proposed in part I is impemented using C-prgraming langouge. Cylindrical coordinate system is used. The code is validated by solving the heat distribution in induction machine running at 1500 rpm at different loads. The results are comared with experimental data that are collected on the same machine. Good agreement is reported between the measured and computed data. The results show that the flow in the air-gap has little effect on the heat transfer and can be treated as still air.
