The role of Process Integration in CCS Systems in Oil Refineries and Pulp Mills
Other conference contribution, 2008

Capturing CO2 from flue gases in process industries like oil refineries and pulp mills can be an important part in reducing the CO2 emissions in the world. The advantage with process industries when capturing CO2 is the existence of excess heat. In this paper it is shown that process integration and the use of excess for regenerating the absorbent is a good way of reducing avoidance cost. A reduction of up to 10-15 EUR/t is achievable dependent on the system layout.
