LIMITATIONS ON TUBE FILLING IN A PULSED DETONATION ENGINE

Computational fluid dynamics is used to study the limitations of filling the tubes in a Pulsed Detonation Engine. Direct replacement of the combustor in a conventional engine with the tubes can severely limit the operational conditions. An alternative method for integrating the tubes in the engine is suggested and is shown to give a wide range of working conditions.
