Influence of the operating time on the coefficient of performance in on/off-regulated heat pump systems
Magazine article, 1981

The coefficient of performance has been determined experi~ mentally for a water-to-water heat pump at laboratory conditions. Tests' have been carried out with the heat pump operating both continuously and on/off-regulated. In the latter case the conditions concerning dynamic temperature variations were as close to the ones in a real application as possible. The tests showed a decrease of the C.O.P. when the absolute operating time was increased and when the relative operating time was decreased.
