Extractive gas analysis from a burning fixrd brd biofuel bed ---method and measurements
Other conference contribution, 2003

An experimental rig was built to investigate counter-current combustion under well defined conditions. Measurements were performed with extraxtive gas analysis from inside a burning fixed bed of biofuel. A number of species concentrations were measured, together with mass change and air flow. A gas suction probe was designed and a method was developed to achieve good accuracy and spatial resolution. The influence of primary air flow, fuel particle size and moisture content on ignition and combustion rate, the length of the devolatilisation and char combustion phases, the maximum tront temperature and concentrations leaving the bed was investigated.
