Record-Sensitivity Gb/S Receiver for Free-Space Applications Based on Phase-Sensitive Amplification

We report error-free, 1 photon-per-bit receiver sensitivity using 10.52 Gb/s QPSK data and a half-rate FEC, enabled by a low-noise phase-sensitive pre-amplifier as well as injection-locking-based pump recovery at sub nano-watt powers.
