Single-Layer Dual-Polarized End-Fire Phased Array Antenna for Low-Cost Millimeter-Wave Mobile Terminal Applications
Paper in proceeding, 2022

A dual-polarized end-fire phased array antenna printed on a single-layer substrate is successfully developed for low-cost millimeter-wave mobile terminal applications. Metallic strips loaded in front of the substrate integrated waveguide improve the performance of the vertical polarization. The gradual grounded coplanar waveguide and V-shaped parasitic dipoles achieve compact horizontally polarized elements. Both polarizations are combined to establish an array with an element spacing of 6.3 mm. The proposed phased array realizes a -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 7.9% and a port isolation above 15 dB, capable of covering the n261 band. The realized gain is greater than 9 dBi for both polarizations, with a beam scanning range of about 79°.
