Mass transport plays a major role in the operation of Redox Flow Batteries (RFBs). This chapter aims to provide an overview on how electrolyte transport affects RFB performance and operations and how they must be accounted for in the cell design, plant configurations and mode of operations. It aims to provide an introductory background and to address to specialized publications for deeper studies.
