Gamification in teaching product modularization
Other conference contribution, 2024

Game-based management training is used for improving their decision-making in adopting, and implementing, a product modularization strategy in the development and manufacturing of products. The empirical setting is based on experimentation of the games in courses. LEGO Minifigures are used to simulate decision making in serious play, of which tools, technologies, techniques, or toys are used in line with modelling, prototyping and simulation. The setup has been applied in academics and industrial workshops. Comparing traditional and game-based teaching approaches revealed insights into benefits of modularization, such financial benefits, drivers, key management decision, and horizons.
