The Description of Sound Sources by a Set of Equivalent Sources Using Impulse Response Functions and the Least Mean Square (LMS) Algorithm
Paper in proceeding, 2022

When modelling virtual acoustic environments for research applications it is essential to provide a proper source description. Such a description has to include both the signal contents but also the directivity of the source. In the ideal case the description allows for a time varying directivity due to e.g. movement of a speakers head. In addition the implementation of such a source description should be compatible with the approach used for simulating the environment. The idea behind the presented paper is to formulate a complex original source (OS) by a number of equivalent sources (ES) such as simple monopoles. To allow for time varying properties a time domain formulation is needed.
