Dr. Shengyu Tao is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He received his PhD degree in electrical engineering from a joint training program with Tsinghua University and University of California (UC), Berkeley. He was a visiting research scholar at the Energy, Controls, and Applications Lab (eCAL) at UC Berkeley. His research includes artificial intelligence-driven applications for sustainable utilization of batteries, including reuse, recycling, and remanufacturing, with special attention to active and transferable diagnostics and prognostics under limited and heterogeneous data availability, facilitating the circular battery economy throughout the life cycle. Mr. Albert Škegro is a PhD student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2016 and 2018, respectively. His PhD project focuses on modeling and control of reconfigurable battery systems. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a battery control engineer at Rimac Automobili. In 2025, he received second place in the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Call for Ideas Competition and the research scholarship from the Gunnar Engström ABB Foundation for his work on battery reconfiguration. Prof. Changfu Zou is professor of automatic control at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. His research focuses on modeling, monitoring, and control of energy systems, with a particular focus on batteries. His work has been recognized through distinctions such as the IEEE VTS Best Vehicular Electronics Paper Award, IEEE TTE Prize Paper Award, and selection to the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA)’s 100 List. He has received competitive funding from the Swedish Research Council, European Commission, and Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. He also serves on editorial boards of several leading journals and acts as a review expert for multiple national and international funding agencies.
