Designing a pull oriented material planning system - human, technical and organizational considerations
Paper in proceeding, 2012

The purpose of this paper is to explain what aspects are taken into consideration when designing a pull-oriented material planning system. An analytical framework is built with a base in the sociotechnical systems design literature, taking a human, technical and organizational perspective. Case study methodology is used to understand what aspects are taken into consideration during the design process at a company and the findings are matched with the analytical framework. The study shows the connections between the human, technical and organization aspect, giving a better understanding of what to take into consideration when designing a pull-oriented material planning system.
