Low-power signal driver with low harmonic content
Patent, 2002

A signal driver for reducing harmonic content in switching currents while preventing unnecessary power dissipation. The signal driver includes at least two series-connected semiconductor switches. One of the two switches having a low-threshold, and the other switch having a high-threshold. To discharge a capacitance load connected to one of the two switches, the high-threshold switch is switched on first. Next, the low-threshold switch is switched on. By turning on the two switches in this order, less harmonic content is introduced into the current flowing through the switches. Further, the two switches in series prevent unnecessary current leakage.
