An emerging option: Grid-Connected Solar Heat
Journal article, 2013

Large-scale solar heating is on the way to become an interesting option in district heating in Europe. There is now a strong market development in Denmark and the number of large-scale plants has increased by more than 50%, from about 120 in 2007 to about 200 plants in 2013. The majority of new large-scale solar heating plants are designed and installed for a specific heat or cooling load, but there are also a number of »grid-connected« solar heating plants in district heating systems [1;2] more or less similar to »gridconnected« solar PV systems.
