Operational Development of an Emergency Ward – A Study Based on Principles of Lean and Psychosocial Work Environment Theories
Paper in proceeding, 2016

Many healthcare organizations are increasingly facing long waiting times and queues of patients. The addition of resources is no longer feasible due to budget constraints. This paper investigates different ways to create more efficient patient flow in emergency care based on existing resources using the principles of Lean production. The study also discusses how an efficient flow can be combined with a good work environment to achieve social sustainability in the workplace.
