Large-Eddy Simulation of the Flow around Simplified High-Speed Trains under Side Wind Conditions , thesis of Lic. of Engng, Division of Fluid Dynamics, Dept. of Applied Mechanics, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden, 2006.
Licentiate thesis, 2006

The flows around high speed trains, subjected to side winds, are solved using Large Eddy Simulation (LES). Two train models have been used: generic model and more realestic model (the ICE2 train) in the investigations. The influences of the design of the shape of the nose of the train on the aerodynamic coefficients and flow structures have been investigated on the thesis.
