High-Definition Distributed MIMO Positioning and Sensing for 6G (HDD-MIMO)
Forskningsprojekt, 2024
– 2026
Future wireless communication systems, in particular the sixth-generation cellular communication standard (6G), have the potential to be used not only for communication hut also for radarlike sensing and precise localization, supporting novel use cases for autonomous systems. Distributed MIMO (D-MIMO), as one of the key 6G technologies, is considered from the positioning and sensing perspective in this project, as it enables extremely high definition (i.e., resolution) at lower bands, provided challenges related to deployment, calibration, signal design, and estimation can be solved. The HDD-MIMO project aims to investigate and address these challenges. The project relates to the Autonomous Systems (AS) area in WASP.
