Green mobility with AEM fuel cell concepts within the COMET-K1Centre (GAMBIT)
Forskningsprojekt, 2024
– 2026
Research activities in “P3.1 Gambit - Green mobility with AEM fuel cell concepts” join the rapidly growing international field focused on alkaline fuel cells based on solid Anion Exchange Membrane (shortly AEMFC). Alkaline fuel cells offer inherent advantages such as less corrosive operating conditions, allowing PGM-free electrodes to be used, as well as fluorine free electrolyte. Recent improvements in the membranes in terms of mechanical and chemical stability are opening the door to a compact format without external potassium hydroxide circuit. Project target is a thorough screening of the current AEMFC technology with an assessment of the potential employment in mobility applications.
