Impact of processing on properties of polymeric materials for HVDC insulation systems
Forskningsprojekt, 2016
– 2019
The aim of the work package is to collaborate with both industry (ABB) and academia (KTH) for developing next generation of polymeric insulation materials and their characterization techniques
for high voltage direct current (HVDC) system applications. For 2019, the focus would be on three areas: 1) Development of space charge measurement techniques based on pulse electro acoustic (PEA) principle for charge distribution as well as based on the excess current integration principle for total charge characterization, this work is to be collaborated with ABB Corporate Researcher Center
via Vinnova individual mobility program; 2) Together with Polymer technology group at KTH to investigate manufacturing processes impacts on morphology and electrical properties in low density
polyethylene materials via VR funding; 3) In collaboration with ABB power components to develop and testing on silicon rubber based graphene nanocomposite used as field controlling elements in
HVDC components, the work it to be partially supported via Vinnova SIO Graphene program.
