Governance Innovations for Bioeconomy and Bioenergy Systems (GIBBS)
Forskningsprojekt, 2020
–
The need to address the environmental impacts of fossil fuels has bolstered initiatives for the promotion of a bioeconomy, where fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources are replaced by biomass to produce bioenergy, as well as myriad other products, such as bioplastics. However, while substantive research has focused on the technological innovations for such a bioeconomy development, a critical gap remains on understanding the policy and governance dimensions of that transition. The aim of this project is to create
knowledge that can facilitate such a transition by analyzing institutional innovations – understood as novel policies, governance arrangements, or partnerships to change existing practices.
