A V-band branch guide 3-dB Coupler based on gap waveguide for use in antenna array

A branch guide 3-dB directional coupler based on gap waveguide technology is presented for V-band applications. The simulation results show that return loss and isolation of the coupler are better than 20. Also, power-split imbalance of 0.6 dB is achieved over the bandwidth of 54-75 GHz covering about 32% of relative bandwidth. This wideband coupler design can play a great role while designing wideband beam forming feed network, comparator network etc. for the antenna arrays at millimeter-wave frequencies.
