Electrifying Construction Transport: Unveiling a Heroic Vision for Sustainability transition

This study explores challenges and opportunities in electrifying construction 
transports including machines and trucks. The study takes a qualitative approach. 18 interviews were conducted with industrial experts 
covering municipalities, innovation hubs, networking agencies, construction companies, and 
energy companies. Data were coded using Gioia methodology. 
We interpreted the challenges and opportunities of electrifying construction transports as a long- 
term balance between ‘Chicken-and-Egg Delimmas’ and ‘The Emergence of Heros’. The Ying- 
yang symbol was introduced to capture the dynamics between these dualistic issues, calling for 
actors who aim for strategic networking, fair transition, and common practice in initiating, 
accelerating, and finally achieving a sustainable transition.
