Application of Co-Design in Shared Mobility Solution-finding

This poster presents an ongoing case study within the Seamless Shared Urban Mobility (SUM) project investigating the usefulness of co-design in developing shared mobility solutions. The study focuses on the introduction of an electric ferry in Fredrikstad, Norway, and explores how citizens, employees, planners, service providers, and researchers collaborate in designing mobility services. Initial workshops identified barriers and opportunities related to ferry adoption, including active mobility connections, school transport integration, park-and-ride awareness, and local attraction development. The study aims to understand when co-design is most useful in mobility innovation, how it can reveal latent user needs, and how collaboration can be managed under project uncertainty.
