Managing Strategic, Tactical and Operational Performance in Manufacturing Collaboration
Paper i proceeding, 2004

Global competitiveness sets the stage with high pressure on productivity and performance in all aspects of a companies business and its supporting environment. One way to generate an advantageous competitive solution is to use collaboration networks of multiple companies with core competence in specific areas. These kinds of networks can be seen in Sweden (Gnosjö, Skaraborg) and in other places in the world, such as Silicon Valley and northern Italy. Efficient collaboration has by many been classified as an important issue for staying competitive in the future of manufacturing (Visionary Manufacturing Challenges for 2020, Technology Foresight Panel 4). The purpose of this paper is to outline how collaborating companies handle performance between partners in different levels, e.g strategic-, tactical- and operational- level. The paper is initiated with a literature overview of methods to secure overall collaboration and performance. The methods will then be analyzed and combined in a discussion finalized with a conclusion.
