Denis Vleeschhouwers

Doctoral Student at Fluid Dynamics

Denis is a doctoral student in the field of multiphase flows. His research deals with modelling and numerical simulations of the formation and deposition of crystals on heat-transfer surfaces in falling film units. In industrial applications, such as evaporators, these deposits cause major problems as they disrupt or even stop operation of such units. The objective of this project is to better understand the mechanisms behind formation and deposition of crystals, and consequently to give guidelines to industry on how to avoid such problems in falling film evaporators.
