Ida is a Doctoral Student at the Division of Entrepreneurship and Strategy, at the Department of Technology Management and Economics.
The livelihoods of coastal and fishing communities are being threatened by industrialization and their inability to compete with large scale fishing companies.
Ida is researching into circular economy and digital transformation in coastal communities and life in the ocean, to promote economic resilience and sustainable livelihoods. The aim of her research is to discover innovations that promotes traceability of activities and rewards systems that will preserve the culture of community living and transparency.Her research is a collaboration with Peniche Ocean Watch Initiative in Peniche, Portugal.

Ida holds triple master's degree in the field of pervasive computing & communications for sustainable development at Université Lorraine, Lappeenranta University of Technology and Luleå University of Technology. In her Master’s thesis, she researched on decision support systems to aid social and world organization to correctly align developmental projects to the needs of developing countries using the case of Ghana.
