Pratik Lokhande

Doctoral Student at Energy and Material

Worldwide nuclear reactors are aging, raising the need for a new nuclear build. In the last few decades, various new advanced reactor systems are being researched on known as Generation IV reactors; and Lead-cooled Fast Reactor (LFR) is one of them. Pratik’s research is focused on the chemistry and materials for the LFR. This research aims to use an experimental and theoretical-computational approach to understand the cladding-fission product and coolant (Pb/LBE) interaction to further the development of safety systems. Pratik has a background in nuclear and chemical engineering. Previously, he has worked on different nuclear materials and coolant chemistry for advanced fission and fusion reactors.
