Doctoral Student at Energy Conversion and Propulsion Systems

Abhilash is a doctoral student at the Division of Combustion and Propulsion. The focus of his project is the development and evaluation of CFD methods for mixed-mode turbulent combustion, especially using Large Eddy Simulation (LES). There is a growing need for more sophisticated combustion engine technology to meet stricter emissions requirements and with this, the need for more flexible and accurate simulation tools. The goal of this project is to improve the versatility and computational efficiency of the tried and tested Linear Eddy Model (LEM) within LES, for combustion simulations of IC engines or gas turbines.
