How to create innovative and entrepreneurial milieus around MAX IV and ESS for research, business and education?
Research Project, 2021

The project is a pilot study and the objective is to analysze how to create an entrepreneurial milieu around the two research facilities MAX IV and ESS, located outside Lund, Sweden. MAX IV is a national electron accelerator laboratory for synchrotron radiation research and is the largest Swedish investment in research infrastructure and also the brightest source of x-rays. Research is covering areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. In an area of two square kilometres in north-west Lund, the European Spallation Source (ESS), a facility for materials research, is being built (the facility is complete 2023) and the ESS will be a multidisciplinary scientific research centre and the world’s most powerful neutron source.
