Ventilation in energy efficient multi-family buildings - part 2
Research Project, 2021
This project is a continuation of a technology competition on ventilation in energy-efficient residential buildings. The first stage of the competition was conducted during 2019 - 2020 in collaboration between the trade organizations/networks Svensk Ventilation and
BeBo with the overall aim of stimulating new and innovative solutions to ventilation problems in energy efficient residential buildings. The problem addressed is linked to the need to supply replacement air in conjunction with operation of the range hood to avoid disturbing under-pressure in the apartment.
Out of fifteen submitted solutions, the competition jury judged that three were particularly interesting to develop further. In this second phase of the project, the solutions were evaluated by measurements in a controlled laboratory environment. The purpose of the measurements was to ensure that the solutions maintain the promised performance, function correctly under varying operating conditions and have safe operation over time.
The project was funded by a grant from E2B2, a research and innovation program initiated by the Swedish Energy Agency, coordinated by IQ Samhällsbyggnad.
