Code Agents: AI-powered end-to-endsolutions for flexible manufacturing
Research Project, 2024 – 2025

The "Code Agents: AI-powered end-to-end solutions for flexible manufacturing" projectaims to enhance manufacturing systems by integrating AI and automation, specificallythrough robotics and PLCs. By leveraging AI technologies, manufacturers can achievehigher productivity, lower costs, and improved quality. Focus is on developing CodeGeneration & Validation Agents based on Generative AI (GenAI) to create adaptive, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes.
The project addresses needs for flexible operations in manufacturing, currently limitedby static programs requiring manual updates & adjustments. GenAI can overcome theselimitations by enabling devices to learn from programming data & feedback loops, adaptto changing environments, and collaborate with other automated systems and humans. The project also considers the importance of trust in AI technology, ensuringtransparency and collaboration between humans and AI.
The project aims to promote the use of AI in the manufacturing industry by creating customized end-to-end solutions, proof-of-concepts, and best practices. It will alsodevelop business models capturing the value of GenAI services, ensuring scalability andcustomization. The project will move from TRL 3 to TRL 6.
