Omkar Salunkhe
Omkar Salunkhe is a doctoral student at the division of production systems since autumn 2018. He worked as a project assistant at the Stena Industrial Innovation lab for a year. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degree in production engineering from Chalmers. His research area is digitalization in production systems with the focus on the application of Industrial Internet of Things to create smart factories and cyber-physical production systems (CPPS). The introduction of information and communication technology along with the increasing digitalization in production and manufacturing is leading the fourth industrial revolution often termed as Industry 4.0. Taking inspiration from these changes, His goal is to help elevate existing production systems to Industry 4.0 enabled production systems.
