MicroTOX
Research Project, 2025 – 2027

MicroTOX will investigate how different sensor technologies can help identify intoxicated riding of micromobility vehicles in real time. By collecting data from intoxicated bicycle and e-scooter riders with a motion-capture system, this project will provide a reference for various sensor technologies (e.g., eye tracking, inertial measurements, cameras) to identify intoxicated drivers. The algorithms that can classify intoxicated riding from different sensor technologies will be the main outcome of this project. They will be published in international scientific journals and implemented within the project by the industrial partners to verify the extent to which they can reliably identify intoxicated riders in traffic.
