DRIVE PR - Data Driven Product Realisation
Research Project, 2025
Purpose and goal
The aim is to bring together established manufacturing industries to nationally strengthen industrial capacity to manage uncertainty, variation and risk in product realization through data-driven product realization in new digital infrastructure. The goal is to develop an anchored vision, ambition and strategy for a research and innovation project (3+3 years) where manufacturing industries and SMEs collaborate with academia and institutes to strengthen Swedish competitiveness in the area.
Expected effects and result
A vision and plan for a 6 year research and innovation project that enables manufacturing industries to effectively utilize the emerging digital infrastructure for data-driven product realization for handling uncertainty, variation and risk. Such capacity expected to accelerate innovations, adapt to changing external conditions and make more efficient and effective use of knowledge and resources for next generation products, systems and processes in the manufacturing industry.
Planned approach and implementation
Chalmers gathers Wingquist partners, identify applicable digital infrastructure and leads the work to develop a vision, consortium and implementation plan together with SAAB, VOLVO CE and GKN Aerospace. It is an objective to mobilize a national consortium. State of the Art, Industrial needs analysis and mobilization of partners are conducted in parallel, with three gathering seminars and intermediate work. Knowledge gaps and ambition are linked to infrastructure in a proposal.
