Circular Velocity – Creating the digital high-speed circular industry (CVEx)
Research Project, 2025 – 2026

Purpose and goal
Circular Velocity (CVEx) aims to establish a world-leading cluster of excellence with the goal of accelerating circular industrial innovation tenfold by 2035 through digitalization, advanced materials and interdisciplinary collaboration. The feasibility study shapes a proposal that ensures this vision is achieved and strengthens Sweden´s competitiveness, sustainability and global leadership in digital manufacturing.

Expected effects and result
The feasibility study results in a shared vision, strategy and action plan to establish Circular Velocity Excellence (CVEx). The result will be a consortium with clear roles, international partnerships and an implementation plan. In the long term, CVEx is expected to enable a tenfold acceleration of circular innovation, strengthen Swedish industrial competitiveness and contribute to sustainable transition globally.

Planned approach and implementation
The feasibility study is carried out in four work packages: vision and strategy, mobilisation of partners, internationalisation and management and implementation plan. Through workshops, analyses and international benchmarking, a common strategy and a consortium are being formed. The core of the consortium are partners in three Chalmers centres and the feasibility study will complement the clustering. The result will be a roadmap for establishing the CVEx cluster of excellence by March 2026.
