From awareness to action for industrial decarbonization (A2AID)
Research Project, 2025 – 2028

Manufacturing companies must demonstrate strong commitment and contribution to sustainable development to attract investments and prosper in the long term. Powerful approaches to achieve sustainability goals in production include eco-efficiency; i.e. creating social and economic value through production systems that avoid, minimise or compensate negative environmental impacts. The A2AID project aims to develop a fast-track planning tool for eco-efficient and circular manufacturing and accelerate decarbonization of manufacturing operations. The project will investigate how digitalization and competence development can enable the integration of the A2AID tool in business activities. This tool will combine digitalized environmental assessments (including carbon accounting), impact visualisations, and sustainability roadmapping to identify and prioritise effective solutions towards the science-based targets.
