From Lab to Line: Integration of Humanoid Robots in Industrial Production
Research Project, 2027
– 2028
The project investigates how humanoid robots can be integrated into existing industrial production systems as flexible, autonomous, and failure-resilient resources. Moving beyond technology-focused laboratory demonstrations, the project addresses the technical, operational, organisational, and human aspects of real-world industrial deployment. Industrial use cases will be developed and evaluated together with partner companies, progressing from laboratory testing to industrial environments. The project combines expertise in robotics, AI and control, production systems, intralogistics, and organisational development to identify suitable applications, integration requirements, barriers and enablers, and the potential industrial value of humanoid robots.
