Virtual demonstrators for parallel product and production system development
Research Project, 2013
– 2016
The objective of this project is to develop a virtual demonstrator for parallel development (or co-development) of system product families and the production systems and processes needed for their realization. The demonstrator will allow for platform identification, scoping and modelling, co-configuration of product and production system variants, robustness and tolerance analysis, weld ability and path planning. The purpose is to demonstrate and further explore the potential of new ways to execute ´Parallel Product and Production Development´. The expected results from the project are: 1)a validated virtual demonstrator, 2)validated methods, tools and work procedures for system synthesis and modelling, 3)validated methods, tools and work procedures for system property and manufacturability simulation and analysis, and thereby a validation of the potential of the whole new concept of a virtual development environment for parallel product and production development.
