Substitution in Practice of Prioritised Fluorinated Chemicals to Eliminate Diffuse Sources (SUPFES)
Research Project
, 2013
– 2020
This project is financed by Formas and implemented by a consortium of researchers and practitioners from many disciplines, active in different stages of the life cycle of consumer products and related chemicals, especially in the field of textiles. The purpose of the work at Chemical Environmental Science is to assess the risks and potential environmental effects associated use of poly-and perfluorinated chemicals in textiles. Special focus will also be given to contamination of sewage sludge. With a method of quantitative risk assessment and life cycle assessment methodology combined, different sludge management options will be compared. Using the same principle, the various alternative products developed in the project will be compared and evaluated.
