From hours to decades -how does variations in production and load affect the composition of the future Swedish and European electricity system?
Research Project, 2015 – 2018

To reach the climate targets, requires significant restructuring of the European electricity system in which wind and solar power are expected to play a central role. The project has a focus on future electricity system with large amounts of wind and solar generation as could be the case beyond Year 2020, combining different types of variation management. The proposed project comprises further development of the modelling package and modelling and analysis in order to increase the understanding of how variations in load and production influence the future mix of the Swedish and European electricity system, including transmission capacities for import and export.
