Strategic innovation agenda for Solar electricity
Research Project, 2014
– 2015
Objective and GoalAlong with an increased need for a transition towards renewable energy production and falling prices on PV modules, the market for solar electricity has grown exponentially over the last few years. This situation create good opportunity for growth in the Swedish industry sector that potentially can cater these growing needs, however the understanding of the sector need to be realized. The purpose of this agenda is to provide a roadmap for how we in Sweden can strengthen the receiver capability for industry and society to utilize the global market development for solar electricity.Result and Expected EffectsThe agenda project is expected to contribute to an increased awereness among Swedish industrial actors around the opportunities within the field of solar electricity. An increased exchange among existing and potentially new actors in the field, along with recommendations for actions ahead, will lay the foundation for increased activities and employment within the area. Morover, the agenda project is expected to contribute to a more efficient utilization of existing resources, such as the testbed for new solar energy solutions, and through this facilitate innovations in the field.Approach and ImplementationThe project is a collaboration between SP, Chalmers and Solkompaniet, and the process will in the initial phase include individual discussion with a number of representatives from industry and other stakholders, and in the following phase, gather these individuals for a workshop that will be based on the results of the initial discussions and from that, eloborate on strategies and actions that include the broader stakholder group within the sector.
