The potential of BigData in material supply and information sharing in supply chains
Research Project, 2017
This pre-study aimed at identifying potential research issues related to applying advanced analytics to delivery schedule data and using the blockchain technology in material supply and information sharing processes in supply chains.
Exploratory data analyses were conducted on two years of delivery schedule data from one company identifying types of schedule variations and suggesting directions for further research related to the visibility and prediction of variations in supply chains.
The blockchain study was based on literature review. Further research related to advanced tracking and tracing, logistics contract management , and collaborative forecasting were suggested.
