Prosumers’ role in a changing electricity system
Research Project, 2018 – 2020

We see the local electricity system as having three key actors: the prosumers (or group of prosumers), municipality actors and utility actors. The objective of this project is to map the linkages between prosumers, and energy communities, municipality actors and utility actors and the impacts of those linkages on each of them and the overall electricity system. Here, the overall electricity system will consist of technical, economic and societal aspects. The outcome will be the mapping process of the linkages, while considering the technical, social and policy aspects of the actor interactions, and a conceptual participatory model for cooperation between the municipality actors, the energy communities and utility actors. A Systems Dynamic (SD) model joined with Participatory Modelling (PM) framework will be built to study the linkages and their impacts on the local electricity grid. The SD and PM methods will ensure quantitative and qualitative accuracy of the study, respectively.
