High temperature corrosion and ash research
Research Project, 2019 –

Work on clarifying the chemistry of metal compounds in combustion/gasification environments. This is important since we need to understand how the mineral contaminants in biomass and waste fuels are transformed during the combustion/gasification in order to be able to either remove them from the combustion residues or to stabilise them from leaching from the ashes. During 2019 work on antimony is planned since that is a toxic metal and it is abundant in municipal solid waste. In addition, the minerals in the biomass and their effect on other reactions in the gasification will be studied together with Pavleta Knutsson. (Environmental Inorganic Chemistry). who will be partially funded within this WP
