Shipping and ocean acidification
Research Project, 2010 – 2013

In the late 1990s, shipping emissions of acidifying sulfur and nitrogen oxides were reported  to significantly contribute to reduced air quality on a local, regional and global scale. In this project, we investigate whether deposition, on the sea surface, of shipping emissions can contribute to ocean acidification.
