Trots bra förutsättningar så ökar inte antalet installationer av kollaborativa robotar inom slutmontering i svensk industri. Högsta automationsgrad finns tidigt i kedjan, ju närmare slutkund produkten kommer desto mer manuellt arbete finns. En bidragande orsak är att produkten inte är designad för en automatiserad montering. DIPPA vill öka interaktionen mellan produkt- och produktionsdesign för att öka automationen i slutmonteringen.
